Meet Tom Stead
Director
Tom started his health and safety career whilst working in the iron mining industry in Western Australia, where he worked as a safety representative as part of his role as a supervisor.
After four years working in the mining industry, Tom returned to the UK where he got his first full-time role as a health and safety advisor for a consultancy firm based in London, where Tom worked before returning to Jersey. During his time in London, he successfully completed the NEBOSH National General Certificate.
On returning to Jersey, Tom landed a role as a consultant at a local health and safety company. Over the next six years working for the company he completed the City & Guilds NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Occupation Health & Safety. Tom later enrolled on the Initial Professional Development (IPD) scheme which after successful completion resulted in being awarded a Chartered Membership at The Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).
Since becoming a Chartered member, Tom has continued to keep his Continuing Professional Development (CPD) up-to-date and has recently completed the HNC Diploma in Construction Management.
In 2021, Tom set up WorkSafe Jersey, a Health & Safety Consultancy firm based in Jersey, Channel Islands. WorkSafe Jersey strives to simplify communications, engage with clients and inspire compliance in order to generate a positive safety culture within an organisation.
Meet Shane Horgan
Senior Health & Safety Consultant / HSPC
Shane is a Health & Safety Consultant and Health & Safety Project Coordinator (HSPC) for WorkSafe Jersey. Shane has over 30 years experience within the construction industry and is a Technical Member (TechIOSH) at the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
